MusicBee 1.0 is almost here!

I think it's almost time for MusicBee to become an offical 1.0 release. The application is feature complete for version 1.0 (you can see a detailed list if the changes made during the 0.3 beta in the forum). I intend to focus on fixing any issues and bugs raised over the coming weeks before I make this the official 1.0 release.

I think this application has come a long way since December when I made the first beta release available but there are still plenty of features and improvements I plan to make over the year. By all means make any suggestions for improvement in the forum.

What happened to version 0.2

In case you are wondering what happened to the final 0.2 release, I decided in the end that it wasn't ready as a final stable release.

However the 0.3 beta is under active development now and has fixed all the reported issues with version 0.2 - it has many improvements that make the upgrade worthwhile. You can get the latest download on the forum.

Some of the new features included so far include:
- iPhone/ iTouch support
- Artwork-only layout (just shows album covers and the name of album)
- Multiple Column sorting (using the Ctrl-mouse click action)
- Track Information tab in the now playing list, which can be configured for the tags it displays
- Optional floating lyrics window
- Mini-player has Show/Hide Now Playing List button
- Undo/ Redo function for the now playing list
- Various GUI fixes
- Various performance improvements

I'll also be looking to improve the user interface for device synchronisation and also incorporate a number of suggestions from the forum.

MusicBee Beta 0.2 released

MusicBee has been updated to include secure CD ripping with AccurateRip.com validation, playback and editing of fairplay DRM protected files, fixes to various reported bugs, improved exception handling for file re-organisation, improved folder monitoring, improved handling for embedded cuesheets and enhancements to the Windows Native skin.

MusicBee Beta 0.1 released

This is the first beta release of MusicBee - a music organiser, explorer and player. You can see it's features @ www.getmusicbee.com. Please report any bugs or comments about the functionality in the forum.

Next up, I plan to include CD ripping and video library management.
